How this number is made
Every two weeks is 26 checks a year. Twice a month is 24. People mix them up and then wonder why the monthly budget does not match. This page converts one gross or net figure. It does not compute tax.
- The amount is whatever is on the check you are converting. Gross stays gross. Net stays net.
- Semimonthly is the 15th and the last day. Biweekly is every other Friday.
Formula
Annual = paycheck × number of checks. Monthly = annual ÷ 12. Weekly = annual ÷ 52.
Worked example
With the figures already in the form, per year is $62,400.
Questions
Why is monthly not twice the biweekly check?
Because 26 checks ÷ 12 months is a bit more than two. Two months a year have three biweekly checks.
Does this withhold tax?
No. It only rescales the number you typed.
