Pay

Annualize Year-to-Date Pay

Turn wages earned so far this year into a 12-month pace.

How this number is made

Annualizing assumes the rest of the year looks like the months you already worked. A bonus that landed in this stretch, or a slow season still ahead, will throw the pace off. It is a run rate, not a promise.

  1. Months should match the pay actually included, not the calendar if you started mid-year.
  2. Leave out a one-time bonus if you do not expect another.

Formula

Annual pace = wages so far ÷ months × 12.

Worked example

With the figures already in the form, annual pace is $84,000.

Questions

Why not divide by the day of the year?

You can, and pay periods will not line up with days. Months are the input because most people know how many checks they are looking at.

Does this include future raises?

No. It repeats the average of the months you typed.
