Use the numbers to think. Do not file or borrow from them.

Wagefigure provides general calculations. They are not tax advice, legal advice, financial advice, or lending decisions, and they are not a relationship with a professional.

The paycheck tool uses an annual tax-liability method with 2026 federal brackets, the standard deduction, and employee FICA rates including a Social Security wage base of $184,500. It is not IRS withholding under Publication 15-T. It ignores local tax, credits, itemizing, multiple jobs, and pre-tax benefits other than a traditional 401(k) you type in.

State income rates are simplified. Where a state uses brackets, the preset is a single editable percent, not your bracket. Sales-tax presets are statewide general rates and usually miss local add-ons.

Loan, mortgage, and investment tools assume a constant rate and on-time payments. They ignore fees, PMI, taxes on gains except on the capital-gains page, and the chance the return does not happen. The raise and self-employment tools use the same 2026 federal method as the paycheck page, without the qualified business income deduction. A refinance break-even is closing costs divided by the payment drop. Bonus results are withholding, not the tax due on the return. A housing “afford” figure is a ratio you can edit, not a lender’s approval. Currency figures, when the feed loads, are European Central Bank mid-rates, not a bank or card rate. VAT, net salary, and zakat use the rates and the asset list you type. They are not a tax filing and not a religious ruling. The 1099 page uses 2026 self-employment tax, ordinary brackets, and the standard deduction. State and local rates are percents you can edit, not a state or city return. Business expenses, including mileage, are the amounts you type. The qualified business income deduction is not applied. Choosing a currency symbol does not convert the amount. The penny stock page keeps a price as low as $0.0001. Federal tax on a gain uses 2026 ordinary brackets if you held it a year or less, and the 0%, 15%, and 20% rates if you held it longer, starting from zero other income, plus the 3.8% net investment income tax only when the gain itself is over the threshold. Wages are not included. State tax is that gain times the percent for the state you pick. You can edit the percent. It is not a state bracket, a local tax, a quote, or a tax return. It ignores the spread, later share issues, and whether a sale of that size can fill. Option prices, value at risk, and fund fees are models with the inputs on that page.
